Nictare (nic-TAR-eh or ee), is the Latin word for “to blink” and is the origin word for the Nictitating Membrane that many animals have! Also known as the third eyelid, animals use this membrane to protect their eyes when changing environments (going under water), hunting, fleeing, and otherwise surviving. We humans evolved without the need for a nictitating membrane, yet the concept of that creepy sideways blink has fascinated us and permeated our fantasy and sci-fi media culture for years.
This eye primer is inspired by this unique piece of anatomy, providing you your own “third eyelid” with a color cementing primer base. Nictare Eye Primer is white in the container, but when applied to the skin, dries down clear.
Simply dip your brush or finger tips into the product and blend into the eyelids. Let dry, then proceed with your eyeshadow, packing the product down into the primed surface. Enjoy long-lasting makeup!
*Tip: allow the primer to dry with your eyelids closed. This will prevent creasing!
